Invitation to participate: Joint exhibition in solidarity with Ukraine and the belarussian opposition movement
Statements
Yellow + Blue & Red + White
For some time now we, the members of the artist association mehrkunst, have been planning an art action for the summer of 2022, as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer . This year's motto is "Compass Europe: East Wind" and invites you to look to the east, beyond the borders of the European Union.
Inspired by the numerous peaceful protests in Belarus last year, we originally had the idea of launching an appeal and creating a communal art act from many contributions, in the colors red and white as a symbol of a free Belarus.
Now events have come to a head, Ukraine has been invaded, there is a terrible war taking place. Despite the feeling of helplessness and powerlessness, we wanted to react and changed our original concept:
let's set a sign together, for freedom and self-determination, with a collectively created art work in yellow + blue and red + white.
The presentation of our project will take place as a pop-up exhibition in the city center of Koblenz.
We look forward to your participation!
